Worth a go I rekon, johnson makes me nervous in defence, his disposal can be very ordinary. Id make him the sub.

AJ makes me happy in defence. I would not like to see him as the sub or playing forward when he hasn't done so for 2 years.
Level head, quick, reads the ball beautifully, attacks, backs up his defensive hombres, plays through pain.
You can count his poor games on one hand and not use all your fingers IMHO.

I want the experience of these high pressure games for our youngsters. Particularly if we are going to take on Hawks next week.

I don't really understand the concern over AJ, he's a beauty.

He can occasionally be a slowish starter, but I've NEVER seen him drop his bundle and invariably steadies to play out a great game. Personally I think that is an excellent sign. In years to come I'm tipping he is going to be a big game performer...

I'd guess we'd start three talls forward with usual structure - Mal the sub - run defenders around keeping MM near goal and Goodes on the wing. Baring injury or blow out against us sub a tall and Mal to the wing to spot up targets in the last quarter.

Like seeing Reid near the stoppages - such quick hands for someone his size.

Kevin Sheehan says: Alex is a tall defender/forward with an outstanding work rate and competitive edge. He provides excellent defensive pressure when playing forward. He represented Vic Metro at the under-18 championships this year.

Didak didn't fly up to Syd, so expect Sinclair to come in.

I want Dawes to play & break down in the 2nd qtr.

LRT named in forward pocket, was hoping he stayed down back.

MM also named on the ground, good to see

Interesting to see MM named on ground. Structurally that means Grundy in for LRT, LRT in for Walsh. Parker odds on to be sub. Emergency choice was interesting, two forwards and a defender. (For those who missed it - TDL, Walsh and Armstrong)

Yep. Could be. Not a very big impact player though.
I guess we'll have to wait till tmrw.

No real surprise with team selection.
Now to see where they line up.

Again I expect no real surprise.

I think the team selection is pretty spot on.

We don't really have any impact players who are in the running as sub. I would have Malceski and Parker as pretty similar in terms of impact ability late in a 3rd qtr.

I thought Malceski played almost his best game of the year in the QF against Adelaide. Mightn't have been the most possession game, but he looked safer in defence then he has all year.

There was one kick lateish in the last quarter that was almost the best disposal of the game where he pulled a kick at the last minute deep in a pocket and found Josh Kennedy on the chest in the middle of a swarm of Crows players. It only went about 25m but was absolute pinpoint and a great spot up. If he blazed away it would have been coming back over his head and if he missed the target it would have been worse.
