I felt so bad about giving Nick Smith a bad wrap that I bought badges for both of them! Seriously they're amazing

I thought that was AJ's best game of his career tonight. He is a cool, cool character under pressure. So impressed. And nothing needs to be said of Mr Nick Smith - his usual awesome self!

They were both magnificent. Is AJ big enough to be our next gun KPD?

I loved when AJ stood for Ted after he was taken out late by Goldsack and had a bit of a scuffle. He was a star last night.

Nick Smith has been mr consistent for a while now, always shutting down the oppositions small forward. Krakour his latest victim last night. He's easily my favourite swans player out there at the moment, I just like the way he does his job week in week out, without much fanfare. What annoys me is that he unfortunately will never be considered for AA, which he most certainly deserves in my opinion, as most likely a lot of the media experts have never heard of him and probably if they did see him, would think he was a fringe player or something like that. Someone who was in and out of our side often and not realising that he is one of the first picked in our 22 always.

A long overdue but well-timed article, given how they both played last night.

It's no surprise to anyone here as to how under-rated Smooch is, so pieces like this from the article is a welcome acknowledgement:

A defensive coach from an opposition club described Smith as one of the best small defenders in the game, with an elite ability to concentrate.

"If he wasn't in Sydney, he'd be much better known," the coach said.

Smith helps to set the team's tone with his tackling. He rarely infringes with his technique of angling in low and hard.
When Smithy is out we look palpably more vulnerable in defence, the recent loss to Geelong being a shining example.
To all those people who waited 72 years to see a South Melbourne/Sydney Swans premiership HERE IT IS!!

You never know, big games in finals and premiership medals around your neck will often thrust guys more into the spotlight.

Dempster's selection this year shows that the policy of picking a side as if to actually play a game gives hope that a player like Smooch could find himself in a back pocket of an AA side.

Nice read here on Captain Smith and his former charge Cyril. I like this quote in particular "'You can't have 18 Cyrils. But you'd probably get away with 18 Nick Smiths.''

In a classic 'need to come up with something for the sake of it' moment, McClure named AJ as a possible weakness on AFL360 tonight because of his inexperience. Seen many Swans games this year??
