I love this fixture. I love the anticipation about the season ahead in the pub across the road beforehand. I love North Sydney Oval and all its quirks. I don't pretend for a minute that the match is anything but an interesting sideshow and experiment.

Hmmm ... sounds almost too good to be true considering that the Swans are engaging in a major cost cutting exercise to return to the black.
That North Sydney game must generate $ 100 - $ 200 k in revenue plus concessions.
Plus the fact that it's almost always close to a sell out.

It says the same thing in the Victorian Membership package, so by that logic, the Swans will be playing a practice match in Melbourne. Won't happen though, I guess they are talking about AFL funded practice matches, so that the Swans don't lose money and the Essendon match at NSO is funded by Essendon and Sydney jointly, so I doubt there will be free entry.Originally posted by Ruckman
