I'll put it out there.....if Tipp has a great season (am I over reaching just thinking that is a possibility?), we will win the premiership.
    So, is he retired?
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

    Yes. Swans have said so.

Does this mean we have to find someone or thing else to talk about and close down the thread? What am I going to do with all that free time?

    OMG.
    Tipoff!!!!
I reckon he's hurt himself in training and just thought stuff it.
Are we still going to pay overs for him? For how long?

Kurt Tippett announces retirement - sydneyswans.com.au

Tippett had remained optimistic of returning to full fitness, however the length of his recovery and doubts about being able to get back to his best, led to his decision to retire.

The 30-year-old told his teammates on Monday, saying it was a difficult decision.

Its really tough to leave a game and a club which I really love, but the reality is that my body isnt going to stand up to the rigors of professional football. As I've found out in the past 18 months or so, it's impossible to play at the level you want without being fully fit, Tippett said.

The salary cap amount for Kurts remains

The negotiation of his contract payment from the Swans to KT maybe have some room to move

I suspect that he may have a minimum contract amount$ plus game payments for KT given his injuries prior to renewing his contract? Not sure though but given his age and injuries and his possie u would guess so

He tried hard given his circumstances and is a lovely bloke

Thanks for your service and enthusiasm as a Swan Kurt. A genuinely lovely guy.

    It's official.

Kurt Tippett announces retirement - sydneyswans.com.au

I'm sad and disappointed. In my view he was a good player and when fit definitely in the 22. I wish him well for the future.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)
