'Sensational Swans' Video from 2005

Just watched this video again and was surprised how many times the 'Lukes' (Vogels and Ablett) were mentioned. I remember how Luke Ablett was the whipping boy around that time. Luke Vogels never quite lived up to expectations although he was very good in a number of games in 2005.

Luke was my favourite player at the time. He certainly was mentioned many times during that season. What amazed me when I watched it a few months ago was how much hard work Nick Davis did, both offensively and defensively. It was a season where all of our ducks happened to line up and as a result we won the flag.

Whenever I watch the highlights of 2005, I marvel over how good Amon Buchanan was! (Although the whole team was sensational!)

I still get the shudders when I see that kick across goal in the 2005 GF, even when I know the final result. But there were times when he was a great thumping boot too.

Don't forget that Luke set up the chain of kicks that got the ball down to our goal square for Nicky D's winning goal in the semi so he had some credit in the love bank.
