So Rampe, Armstrong and McGlynn for Morton, Johnson and Bird from the grand final team.

Is Bird fit? Maybe Lukey's pushed ahead of him?

Forget what it is, but Bird had a minor injury over the off-season, just hasn't had enough playing time.

The other three recovering from injury are all playing - Mattner, Smith, Mumford.

He got thumped (accidentally) by Jesse in the GC game. It was bad, and he was subbed out as a result.

Great side for Round 1. A birdy tells me, there might be a late change - Everitt for Mattner. I'm looking forward to see how they front up on Saturday. Wish I could be there.

I'm a little surprised to see Mattner named. After watching him run around for the reserves last Friday night, I thought he looked a little rusty and in need of another solid game in the reserves where he can play predominantly midfield/wing. Bird certainly looked more match ready and was far more dominant than Mattner, though clearly they play different positions so it isn't really an either/or choice.
