Hands up those who five years picked McVeigh as one of the classiest midfielders in the comp and an outstanding leader? It's amazing his transformation the last three years (IMHO).

Thanks, Ugg for the stereo view. There's great vision of Hannebery's mark (right panel).

But what's with putting Lindsay Gilbee on a chair in an empty warehouse? Somebody not paid the ransom?

..And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

    Harsh.

Macca has really grown into the Captains role. 2-3 years ago i'd have been happy to see him gone but I was wrong.............again!

They showed this to the punters on Monday night at the guernsey presentation dinner ('cause we're special premiers, the AFL said we can see it first.)

The room was a collective goosebump.

    Awesome.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

Three years ago McVeigh might not have been the player he is today, but would you really have been happy to see him let go? We had plenty of spuds on our list back then who I would have released before McVeigh.

Yep. He seemed to float around outside the packs and never contributed very much. I used to get angry watching him do nothing and would have been very happy to see him go. At least some of the "Hacks" had a crack. BUT I really enjoyed his footy last year.

He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Me, me, me. I have had "McVeigh for Brownlow" on my avatar for a long time. Then again five years ago he wasn't one of the "classiest midfielders", he was on his way, but now he has definitely become one of them.
