Most seasons on an AFL/VFL list without a senior game?

Bad luck to Dan Currie with his thumb surgery

Got me wondering what the longest a player has spent on an AFL/VFL list for the fewest senior games?

Currie 5 1/2 years (after current surgery) for no games

His teammate Will Sierakowski who just debuted on the weekend has been on AFL lists for 5 years

So the Roos until last week had two players who'd spent a combined ten years training with an AFL team without having played a game.

    It's a cruel world.
The man who laughs has not yet heard the terrible news

North have 2 guys who desperately want to play AFL footy ... to be able to say "I was good enough".
It may have taken 10 1/2 years & 4 AFL clubs, but one finally got there and one nearly so (an emergency last week) ... inspiring tales of perseverance, determination & hard work.
It's a world that last week rewarded those who want it badly enough.

Choose your glass & drink up!
