Gazza took a mark v Dees today , just before the final siren. He was on the wing , close to his own defensive 50 . After the siren went , he nonchalantly kicked the ball . That final kick would count in his stats , if he'd been in the forward 50 and taking a shot at goal.But as it was a kick for no effect or reason - other than to celebrate the win - does it still count in his total possessions ?

The question is not mere pedantry : there are plenty of bookmakers offering odds on Gazza's stats , so the total possessions would be an issue for both them and punters.

Maybe counts as a possession, but not a disposal.
