Coaches report this morning, Tom Mitchell

Now, I know everyone is excited to see this kid play, but I think I just got a little bit more excited!
In 'the coaches report' this morning they said they might rest Mitchell up forward a bit like they usually do with other midfielders.
Does this mean Mitchell may get a full game? I hope so!
My theory is, with new kids, you've got too see them play the start of the game to see how they cope when everybody else is fresh, not come on when everyone is tired and get little time to prove themselves.

I hope he gets a full game!
Maybe Everitt as a sub? He impressed me more last week then he ever has down back, but I still get a bit nervous when he's got his hands on the ball. So I wouldn't mind seeing him come in fresh and use his pace and size.

Wouldn't read too much into it, they tend to do that with the midfielders coming into senior team. Hanners, Bird, Parker all spent big minutes up forward when first bedding into the side. Only exception has been Lamb but he's only been on for less than 3 quarters.

I'm wondering if they'd ask him to play on Jobe Watson?

I ment there looking at resting him forward for some of the game, so I'm hoping that means he won't start as a sub.

Yeah I thought that aswell, probably a little too big of a task for a debutant, even if he is Tom Mitchell haha.
On Jobe though, I think ROK should take the job, so that can leave Kennedy to destroy them naturally.
Kennedy has been quiet this year (compared to his standards) so I think we need to free him up as much as possible.
And just let Mitchell run a mock.

I think it would be best (and most likely) that he does start as sub for his first game - it seems to be the done thing for most debutants and perhaps his match fitness still has a bit of a way to go before he's matching it with the big boys for the full 4 quarters???

Yeah but it's good too see how he goes when everyone fresh, at least if he's having trouble keeping up,
You can see that and you can sub him out if need be.

Just watch the reserves replay from last week on the Swans website....he's in almost every shot!

Edit: Well maybe not every shot...but there's a bit.

And here I am sitting in a resort on Lanta island in Thailand not able to watch the game because they dont get the Australia Channel and I am going to miss the debut of the greatest messiah since Paul Roos. I guess I will just have to suck it up, tune into the AFL website for a kick by kick summary and hoe into a few more Changs on my Pat Malone. Such is life.
