    Port game - Milestones

This was from Patrick Keane before the R8 clash with Fremantle.
R8 milestones: Adam Goodes, Jude Bolton, Ryan O?Keefe to play 250th game together. Most ever by a trio is 253 - B Johnson/R Smith/S West.
On Saturday night Round 11 v Adelaide the trio equalled the record of 253 games.

Assuming that the 3 will play in Rnd 13 v Port Adelaide it will be a unique milestone for the 3.

254 games and many more to come!!

Jude and Adam will play their 300th game together on this day as well, according to my calculations!!
Crows pair McLeod and Edwards hold the record of (307).
Bolton, Goodes on way to record

Stability and continuity plus elixir of youth = success.
    A great record to reach.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Does anyone know how Goodes is injury wise? He had his right knee heavily bandaged on Saturday. That's not the knee he hurt in the Grand Final although I know he has had a chronic problem since his early days in the ruck. He also had a quiet day on Saturday. It looked to me (only saw the replay) as if he was containing himself as the big win was there without him risking further injury. Hopefully the bye is just what he needs. As we know from last year, a strong Adam Goodes in the back end of the year is a potent Swans weapon. And we want the Goodes, Bolton, O'Keefe record to just keep growing!

He finished the Essendon game on the bench, I think, after taking a late knock to the knee area. Hopefully it's just "normal" wear and tear and will recover with rest.

Goodes' contribution (or relative lack thereof) to Saturday's performance makes it even more remarkable. A couple of years ago it would have been impossible to think that the team could be so dominant against a decent opposition without him being a huge part of it. This all goes to show how the team has evolved over the past couple of seasons. And yet his game against the Pies shows he still has it in him to dominate games at times - we just don't need him to do it every week.

One of the remarkable things about the win last week were the names of the LOWEST disposal winners:

Richards 6 and 15 DT points
    mumford 7 and 52
    McGlynn 8 and 81
    Smith 10 and 52
    Goodes 11 and 46

(exculing the sub - with 8 and 29 DT points)

The bandaging looks like what is used to keep the patella from tracking properly and not slipping off to the side and finding a new tracking groove, which can cause some painful tendinitis under the kneecap. It's the sort of thing we know Goodes plays with a lot -- a bit of pain never stops him. Just a part of what makes him such a champion.

Not a bad bottom six (minus one)!

None of those players are big possession winners anyway, Goodes included.

    Bolton, goodes & O'Keefe

    There is a great article about these guys breaking the record for the most game played by three players together. Check it out;
