Since tippet arrived we have stopped slingshot pagans paddock style footy because big tip is always in the forward 50.
Time to drag him up the ground and have jesse and rohan poised on the 50 to run into each pocket for the kick over the top

We haven't played slingshot footy (i.e. in the way we did last year) for most of the year, as we simply haven't had the speed cattle available in midfield. I do think there is merit in playing Tippett as a true leading CHF though and then creating space that way - with the resting ruckman playing literally out of the square.
"You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."
Couldn't agree more, but we have to have a good balance of both, teams like Hawthorn will just drop people like Lake and Gibson back so if you slingshot, it'll go right back to them, so having a good balance of forward and slingshot footy would be great.
A slingshot's no good if you don't have any rocks to put in it.
Hopefully Jetts gets a run this week...
Our transition game has been much too slow in recent weeks, so the forward line is too crowded by the time the ball gets down there. When we play well we move the ball quickly, as do most teams when playing well. I don't know what we have to do to get our execution back, but we can start by not fumbling so much and not turning the ball over. It's probably that we need to turn the pressure pendulum our way.
Since Jetta lost his pace we haven't played sling shot footy.

interestingly Longmire didnt think we lacked speed when questioned whether we were "tall heavy" and about our speed of play and transition from one end to the other.....> !
