Pyke very stiff to miss squad, thought he was a shoe in.

Conspiracy against international recruits! Tadhg was the prototype rebounding defender & never got a selection either.
    Surely Jim Stynes did??
I petition for an All International side be selected each year!!

Pyke #2 in the entire league for contested marks (#1, Trav Cloke, got a guernsey) and is the #1 ruckman in that category by a mile. In fact, he's taken more contested marks than Will Minson (who got the gong) has taken total marks this year! Pyke has kicked more goals than Goldstein and Minson (the 2 ruck nominees) combined. I could go on. But I won't.

Great stuff, well deserved. And yes Pykey a tad unlucky - perhaps BT vetoed it.

What are their ruck stats, though? To be fair, that's probably more what the selection criteria for an AA ruck is based on.

Sorry, but Myke's not even #1 ruck at the Swans, let alone AA.

Had a great year for sure, but Goldstein and Minson have been mighty.

Goldstein and Minson are clearly the first two in terms of what most would consider are 'pure' ruckman stats, but Mumford and Pyke hold their own on opther factors such as contested possessions, Marks, Contested Markes and goals. See below for averages of the four players across the period. I'd say if looking for two pure ruckman, you'd go Goldstein and Minson. If you are looking for a pure ruckman + one that contributes around the ground (as the modern day game is more aligned to), Pykey may be a little unlucky.

Heavily skewed by the fact they are the sole ruckmen in their side where Mumford and Pyke have had a job share (although Mumford has clearly been the number 1 for the past month-6 weeks or so)

I think Pykey was definitely stiff not to be in the 40.
