Getting all the big contracts signed while we still have the COLA. I think the threat of losing the COLA is actually a big incentive for players to sign long term contracts now.

    Go Gaz!
Will be a hard man to stop.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

There were some whispers that one AFL club in particular made strong overtures to Gazza recently so it's a great relief that he's decided to stay.

Just saw a replay of Gazza's last goal from yesterday. He looked dead on his feet, then launched the ball from just over the 50 mtr. mark and it sailed through more than half way up the goal post. The ball must have gone a good 70 mtrs. He looks ready to have an enormous season and move right into the elite category.

yeah it appeared he winded himself when landing with the ball on the ground - then gets up and nails a barry hall style kick at goal !!!

His ankle was giving him some grief last night but played out the game so must be ok. He laid a great tackle late in the 3rd qrt, stayed on the ground grabbing his right ankle. Hobbled to the bench, put ice on for 5 minutes and then re joined the team at the huddle. Played out the final qrt but was slightly hampered. Hope all is ok!

Tremendous news, on the signing not the ankle injury! If ever a player deserved a season or two free from injury to show the AFL just how good he is it was Gaz.

    Massive renewal for the swans.

He will kick plenty of goals whilst the big boys are taking the defenders focus in the forward line.

The cleanness and finishing class will make him a big opposition coach headache.

He certainly makes his possessions count. He received some criticism after the final round game against the Hawks where he finished with two possessions for two goals!

His tackling, pressure and courage a first rate and he is a lovely judge of a high mark!

It will be a nightmare for opposition coaches! If you were playing Geelong, you would want to put Harry Taylor on him due to his marking ability. But Tippett, Franklin and Reid need to be covered first! That leaves an Andrew Mackie against Rohan. Mackie would do a good job body on body, but would not be able to go with Rohan on pace. Mackie would also not be such a potent offensive threat because he would have to show Rohan great respect, and Rohan would drag him often to the Goal Square!
