Because of our utterly appaling record against Collingwood, I went and had $25 on the Pies to beat us -> with my thinking being that at least if we get beat, I'll have paid for the trip up the highway later on.

A hard one to judge - they were truly appaling last week, but their previous form usually counts little when playing us sadly. If we show a bit of fight tonight (compared to two weeks ago), we should have too much for them.

Pies by 14 (hoping Swans by 28!)

Has the rain gone? Will the ground be soggy, heavy and slow?

If the weather holds I say Swans by 35, in front of 37k.
If the weather turns I say Swans by 26, in front of 32k.

I'll go with 5+ for Lance tonight.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Were you inspired to go with $25 for the Pies based on the price of purchasing a pie at Stade De Oz?

It's been a great morning to dry the ground, sunny and breezy. Still plenty of darkish clouds around though, so hard to predict...

Thank God we have a match day thread again. I'm so sick of the other garbage we've had to wade through the past 2 weeks while waiting for another game of footy. Go Swans!!!

Swans by 63. Franklin to kick 9. 57 disposals to Macca. Swan to do a groin in the 4th minute.

i think the Swans need to make a statement in this game

Freeo made a statement last week and if we truly want to be the team to beat we need to blast the Pies off the park !

7 goals we will win by and maybe up by as much as 9 goals by the start of the 4th qtr

I've been really impressed by the 1st half efforts of the Saints and Giants. The 2 teams expected to be competing for the bottom of the ladder are putting on a great display of intensity and skill.

I am becoming more convinced that the biggest factor in the game is how much you want to win. This has always been the trump card for the Swans. I know the Pies will be coming out hard. We are going to have play at a high level for 4 quarters to come away with a win.

Mummy is looking a bigger loss than I had expected. He's been terrific.

Yeah Mumford should have been the one we hung on to. He was always going to be a huge loss.

But on the other hand, Mummy had 46 hitouts; absolutely dominated in that department, but the Saints still won the clearances.
