    What happened?

Since the North game scores for and against have changed by 60 points.

    Average score for Against
    First 5 games82 85
    Last 5 games112.2 54.4
    Differential30.2 -30.6

Our defence is certainly a lot stronger and are playing much better since that game.
It was no coincidence that when Ted was off the ground last night, the cats kicked 2 goals in a row.

    Kurt Tippett.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Discovered all that money was well spent and started to relax and not worry about themselves as being sacrificial lambs (see PEB, LRT, Mitchell, Rohan)

They had a 4 hour long meeting after the North game which the Swans claim was a torrid game review session. A little birdy told me they actually listened to Michael Bolton songs for 4 hours and they vowed as a group to never go through that hell again.
..And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

I like this graphical depiction as well, particularly the comparison to premiership teams of previous years:

    Squiggle 2014

Hint: when you click on the link, the graph will look like a squiggly mess at first. Click on the team names at the top to control how many squiggles you'd like to see. See the bottom of the page for an explanation of how the squiggles work!

Scott's squiggles are better : the charcoal grey background makes 'em look more authoritative.
But what was it Wellington said ? "There are three kinds of lies - lies , damned lies .....and squiggles."

Interesting. The results for the first 5 rounds include the Adelaide game, which was a clear outlier and so the average probably hides just how bad we really were.

Our performances since the North game reflect a steady an continuing improvement. Whack a trend line through that graph and we should score about 155 against the Suns (not to mention 165-odd against Port, which would be nice, but is a little hard to believe).
