    Seating Advice for Metricon Stadium

I am heading to the Gold Coast with friends for the game at Metricon and have been given the job of organising tickets.
Are there any RWOers out there who have been to Metricon and might give me some suggestions on the best seating?
There are seats available close to centre wing which is my preferred position in relation to the ground but is level 2 seating very far from the ground? It is hard to tell from the seating maps.
    Would appreciate any advice,
    Thanks, Baskin.

They would be perfect. It is a magnificent viewing ground and the forward rows of Level 2 are very close to the field.
When we played there in their first year, Nipper Gordon got sent off in the ressies (reported twice) so was running laps. I had a conversation with him from front row level 2 without barely having to raise my voice.

I am also going up for that game with my 2 sons. I am ok re seats, but is there a pre game drink venue - we have an air booking straight after game.

I'm going as well but was wondering which seating faces west as I didn't want to be looking straight into the sun (the big yellow disc in the sky) during the game. Never been there for a day game

Level 2 is great baskin, as Triple B said. Just make sure however that you get seats on the western side to avoid the sun!

Many thanks for all the advice. From what I can tell though, the level 2 seats I am talking about are in the Eastern Stand, so facing the sun at some stage doesn't seem to be avoidable. Luckily the game is late in the day so we will only have to cope with the sun for a short while.
    Thanks again,
    Baskin.

Hi folks. I went to our night game up there 2 seasons ago and found it a fantastic place to watch footy. I can't comment on the sun for day games though. In terms of pre-game venues, the ground itself is kind of in the middle of nowhere. There are plenty of bars outside the ground and places to stand around and chat but it's not a short walk from a pub or anything.
