Talk about privilege...how good was it to be able to participate in the ANZAC DAY clash at Picken ?
Started with a moving ceremony to honour those who made it possible for us to have the life and the footy that we get here. Dodgy weather but the drizzle didn't detract from the sight of wreathes being laid and the good fortune that we had in being there.
The clouds cleared and we were blessed to witness one of the great days that I have seen in Sydney footy. Two determined teams who put on such a spectacle of gritty, fiery, relentless footy. Broken collarbone, hammies, blood....it had the lot !
Penno got the points in front of a huge crowd, noisy if you were standing on the flank on the eastern side, but enthralled by the theatre of it all.
Well done to Penno, but even more well done to Wests and the SFL who turned on a day for us footy fans and our families to remember. The ground looked a picture, the new scoreboard is a treat (and they tell me that it's going to be even BETTER !), the canteen was excellent, well organised with plenty of helpers. Wests are a club going places and I was mighty impressed.
You can bagg out Sydney footy all you want but days like this give us pause to remember just how good it can get, and how much we owe to those who did the hard yards so it can be this good.
    Lest we forget.

Great report justabaraker. Good to see some positive talk.

And it was a good game, and a great ANZAC ceremony. I'll have a few pics in this week's report.
