Confused by this article on Luke Parker

Love Parker's game this season and good to see him in the media...but...

Sydney forward Luke Parker enjoys a giant season

First, sure he's played more forward this year, but "Sydney forward"? Still a midfielder, surely.

Second, why "a giant season"? Are they referring to our talls? Surely they haven't made the mistake of... I note they write "Sydney" throughout, never "the Swans".

No name attached to this generic AAP article. Seems like it was thrown together by someone who doesn't know much, using some quotes.

Maybe the article's been edited, but in the fourth paragraph he referred to as a "tenacious midfielder/small forward" and the Swans are name-checked.

I agree it's not the greatest bit of writing, but to fair it does refer to him as a midfielder in the article.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Both correct. I guess it's a case of bad headline, slightly better main text.
