Is that Sydney AFL Div 2, or Sydney Gaelic Div 2?
"It's up to the rest of the players in the room to make a new batch of premiership players next year," Adam Goodes, triple Bob Skilton Medallist, October 7, 2011.
YOU BETCHA!!!!!!
To be sure, to be sure....
Not entering the AFL Sydney comp at all. Merely trying to recruit under 18s for the Australasian Gaelic Championships in Melbourne in October. Setanta OH is coach & I will be one of his assistants.
The UTS Bats, based at Trumper Park Paddington, have a wonderful tradition of recruiting and playing Gaelic Football Players in the Sydney AFL Competition. The Bats in any given year normally have around 20 Irish players on their books. Some of their Irish players have become prominent Premiership players for the Bats and are always sensational characters.
It?s a wonderful two way relationship. The Bats have embraced their Irish playing tradition, while the Irish players love the culture and openness of the club.
The Bats routinely get Irish guys turning up to Trumper Park after hearing about the Bats from family members and friends back in Ireland.
