Set me straight ... how can you even be in the running in your third year?
Set me straight ... how can you even be in the running in your third year?
Straight from Wikipedia:
To be eligible to be nominated for the award, a player must be younger than 21 years of age on 1 January of the award year and have played 10 or fewer senior games before the beginning of the season. A player who is suspended[notes 1] during the season is not eligible to win the award, however is still eligible for nomination.
I was a bit annoyed to see Harry's name missing from the herald sun poll in the winner of the rising star.
Hannaberry won when Daniel rich (the run away winner that year) got suspended.
i thought Rich did win the award...? is he not older than Hannebery?

Rich won it 2009, Hannebery in 2010 (with maximum votes)
It was Dusty Martin that many people thought should have been the favourite the year Hanners won, but was ineligible because he had been suspended. Personally, I thought Hanners' year was every bit as good as Martin's, and while Martin has also gone on to become a pretty good player, I'd have Hanners comfortably ahead of him thus far.
Yeh certainly...an All-Aus and premiership definitely has him ahead! Imagine how good Dusty could be if he had Dan's tank though! That's a scary thought.

No offence to Harry but Aish deserves it, and by a fair margin. He's going to be a helluva footballer
