Suspended bombers means we should be on top after round 1.
But we said that this year!
AFL plans a fan-friendly 2015 fixture
Some good news in relation to the draw - Saturday night starts coming a bit forward to 7.20 instead of 7.40/7.50. Its only 20 or 30 minutes, but I'm certainly happy to see the change made.

Saturday at ANZ with the Easter show in full swing next door, oh goody!!!
Yep, ridiculous, moronic, scheduling by the AFL.
Once again the surface will be all copped up and substandard for AFL, particually the wings where the stands roll back.
It beggars belief that the AFL can still have their head in the sand, after watching the Richmond debacle only a few months ago.
Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect... MT
Rumours on Big footy that our Rd 2 game will be Port Adelaide Away - Matt80's best buddy is supposed to have let it slip today.

Last year I went to an NRL match at ANZ while the Easter Show was on, and it was fantastic. Spent the day at the show during the day, then got some twilight sport. While games at ANZ aren't great generally, with the atmosphere of the Show and great public transport I see this scheduling move as a plus.
Well said...we need to accept ANZ as a location we play games at, not meet every single announcement with negativity. The Easter Show is a major plus being on...1000s of families already in Homebush, 4:40pm is an ideal time to bring them across for a game of footy. The AFL and Swans should work to offer some incentive...show your Easter Show ticket for a $40 family pass etc etc. Can't wait...bring it on!
As for the ground surface concern...being early autumn still, warm nights / days means the surface will be better than later on in the season. No need to whinge!
Swannies for life!
The problem is not the time of year Matt79 - its the fact that there is likely to be an NRL game on the surface the day/night before, which means the stands are moved in over the turf, then moved out for the AFL game - that is the key issue that causes the biggest bugbear with the surface. If there is no NRL game there on Good Friday (next to no chance of that) then it won't be a problem - for as you say, the general condition of the turf should be decent at that time of year. But if there is, then there is the high possibility that it will again be in poor condition on the wings.
Some reasonable scheduling cooperation between ANZ, the NRL and AFL would fix the problem, but that's hardly likely to happen anytime soon. Its frustrating because we saw in the finals that ANZ is capable of producing a high quality surface, if decent scheduling is achieved.
I think we should push hard for providing such incentives as you suggest for the Easter show crowd - got to do something to get the casual punters through the gate, and the opportunity to do some sort of deal is probably a key reason (outside of unavailability of the SCG) why the AFL want a game out there at that time of year.

Back on the main topic, sounds also like we might be getting another Thursday night home game. Seeing how popular it was last year, its not a surprise at all if we do get one.
