    TLM Countdown 2014, Rounds 3-4

Round 3: Adelaide Oval, Sydney Swans 21.8 (134) def. Adelaide Crows 9.17 (71)

On a very warm Saturday afternoon the Swans ran out on to the newly redeveloped Adelaide Oval for the first time determined to get their season on track after losses in their first two matches.

The Swans skipped away to a four goal lead in the first quarter, but then the Crows pegged them back in the second and came within two points midway through the third to the delight of the largely Crows-supporting full house. From then on however it was one-way traffic with the Swans answering the challenge by kicking the next four goals in the third quarter and seven unanswered goals in the last as Adelaide folded, the small crowd of vociferous Swans supporters got their reward and the Crows 19th Man dejectedly left the ground.

Parker and Franklin were standouts, both booting four goals, with Buddy able to flourish his trademark fist pump in his best form of the season to date.

And at last the Swans were able to welcome their 2014 debutants in Franklin, Derickx and Laidler with the traditional Gatorade shower as they belted out Cheer, Cheer in the dressing room.

Goals: Franklin 4, Parker 4, Cunningham 3, Hannebery 2, Jack 2, Rohan, Mitchell, McGlynn, Laidler, McVeigh, Roberts-Thomson
Brownlow Medal votes: 3 Franklin (Syd), 2 Parker (Syd), 1 Kennedy (Syd)
Bob Skilton Medal votes: Parker 49, Franklin 43, Kennedy 40, Smith 36, McGlynn 35

    TLM Votes
    5 Luke Parker
    4 Lance Franklin
    3 Josh Kennedy
    2 Harry Cunningham
    1 Ben McGlynn

    Round 4, Swans v Kangaroos
    6.12.48 to 13.13.91

A wet miserable day to match a wet miserable result
Buddy Franklin looks set to make a huge impact in his first SCG game as a Swan but sadly his promising start resulted in a no goal game.
Despite a tight first half the Swans wasted too many opportunities and by the third quarter allowed the Roos to pull ahead by 19 points, then to a 43 point lead by end of the game.
The Swans after being lauded as premiership favourites at the start of the season are now looking at three losses from four games.
On a not strictly game related note ex-player Jude Bolton had his farewell lap of honour, the highlights reel reminding us of how good our Jude could be, and did seem to inspire our JPK to a Boltonesque enjoyment of the wet soggy conditions
Sadly, this was ROK's last senior game.

    Brownlow Votes: 3. B Cunnington (NM), 2. *D Wells (NM), 1. J Kennedy (Syd)
Bob Skilton Medal votes: Ben McGlynn 31, Josh Kennedy 25, Nick Smith 25, Rampe 20

    TLM Votes
    5 Josh Kennedy
    4 Nick Smith
    3 Ben McGlynn
    2 Jarrad McVeigh
    1 Luke Parker

With 8 votes in these rounds Kennedy bursts the pack to lead the way, closely followed by the rough and tumble Parker with 6 votes. Benny sits one vote further back in 3rd (a further 4 votes these rounds).

    Go Joey!!
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.
