    Pre-season News

Ben Reid is in Germany getting treatment for his soft tissue injuries. I've always been concerned about Sam having a similar problem, like the Menzel brothers and their knees: Ben Reid flown to Germany as Pies search for injury answers - AFL.com.au

I know many were interested in the brothers joining up in Sydney, but Ben has had a really bad run with soft tissue injuries. Sam's quad injury in 2013 made me think it ran in the family, and perhaps it does. Maybe Sam can get some advice from his brother based on his consultation with the German specialist Hans-Wilhelm Mller-Wohlfahrt, a name Brian Taylor should have a lot of fun with. We had the hyphen, but a double hyphen? And HWMW is a lot harder to say than LRT.

Seen the latest image of Dane Rampe smoking? Really disappointing. Drinking is one thing but smoking is going to reduce your aerobic capacity. I wouldn't think the coaching panel would be happy with this.

On the other hand im glad for him that he's enjoying the off season with smoking hot chicks.

Dane was one of only 8 guys to play every game last year, and was 11th overall for his TOG%. He was mentioned as one of the top finishers in one of the 3km time trials already this pre-season.

I'm not too concerned about his aerobic fitness if he has a casual cigarette occasionally. Much like a photographer attempting a career change to becoming a fashion designer for nuns, we need to be aware that one picture does not a habit make.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

I think its disappointing also - but only on the basis of it potentially adversely impacting on his on-field performance.

I'd imagine that many a big name football player get up to all sorts of indiscretions we never hear about off the field, so on that side its really nothing more than a Daily Mail beat up.

    Outstanding!
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

I'm sure Rampe has got a good excuse about the smoking. They always do.

I didn't inhale and never tried it again.

haha that BF reaction is gold. Sooo who is swansfan51 on here? They guy lives for this sort of stuff and grows an extra feet when we lose.

I reckon he is a failed swans coach, maybe col kinnear tbh. He seems to hate the swans coaching panel and is the first one to puff his chest out when we get flogged.

And Dane looks like he hardly knows how to hold a ciggie..thats the smoking stance of a poseur.

What is Dane up to? He knows full well you don't do stuff like that out in public. I guess the Swans won't be asked to front any anti-smoking campaigns.

Strategic. While all the other clubs go after anti-smoking sponsorship, Dane will be the poster-boy for Quit

Luffy smoked, he finished up early, then kept on and on and on and on. He has only just retired from competitive footy. Not saying smoking is good, its not, but ..... anyway bad Rampe. Bad.

Puffy smoked? Well there's your answer. Smoking is terrible if you want to play good footy.
