    Sydney Geelong SF 2005

I know most of us probably have this game on DVD, but for those that don't, Fox showed the last quarter this evening as a "30 minute thriller". It's probably scheduled to show again over the next 24-48 hours (though I haven't looked up the schedule to check).

Interestingly, I noted that there are (at least) six current Sydney Swans employees who played in that game. (Anyone care to name them?)

Not to mention at least four current "media personalities", one recent AFL senior coach, one current AFL commissioner, and Gary Ablett with hair!

Still find that night hard to believe. Who knows what would have happened without Davo's heroics. It could be 82 years...

I must have watched that last quarter 100+ times. Has anyone ever watched the game in full again?

The majority of the rest of the game was unwatchable.

Yeh I've got one of those DVD packs with all our 2005 finals series included and watched it a few times...melbournehammer is spot on it was absolutely horrid.

We were absolutely brilliant in the last quarter of that prelim final...awesome footy!

I watched this yesterday, and it was a whole different feeling this time.
I remember my stress level being peaked (heart attack zone) with absolute elation when we won.

This time I could really sit back and appreciate Davis and what he did, which was way more amazing without all the stress and anxiety.

I have that quarter on my phone, my computer, on Foxtel IQ and with various commentaries - the Rex Hunt one being the classic. But I still watched it again last night and loved it again. I found the silly white notations telling us what was going to happen to be both annoying and distracting.

But one said that Nick accumulated 127 Super Coach points for that quarter. If that's true - is it the highest score for any quarter ever? I can't think of any better. One quarter and he is a bona fide Swans legend.

BTW I've never seen the rest of the game since 2005, despite having the DVD. God that was an awful night up till the Nick Davis quarter.

When the Swans came up to Coffs for their training camp we got to speak to Nick. He was quite happy to talk about that game (and other things too).

I think he's been known to bring it up often, something to the effect of "we never would have won the flag if it weren't for me".

Bit much but who cares, he played the greatest single quarter of all time, he can say whatever he wants!

Thank god the NRL had priority of Homebush that night!
