    Judd

Given the epic mid-2000s battles, thought his imminent retirement was worth a mention. A cracker of a player. Those battles between him and Goodes were two freaks at their peak.

But still reckon given the job Crouch did when switched onto him, and Fosdike's game, the '05 norm smith was wrongly awarded.

PS: Crouchy was a cracker in his own way. The slap forward when 3 v 1 in the first quarter of the GF that led to a Schneider goal summed up his entire career and how desperate those games were.

Yes, he was a champion, and refreshingly, a very intelligent and measured individual. Will be missed on the field for sure. Glad he mentioned Goodsey in his retirement press conference, the whole thing was all class, like the man himself.

1 game in the reserves before starting in the seniors.
And won his final contest against a champion player.

    Bye.
The 2006 cup is forever tainted.
He knew what was going on at the club and said nothing.
    That's worse than taking drugs.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

Yep, should have been awarded to LRT.

LRT did bugger all after half-time. Judd was clearly their best. We probably had 2-3 guys who would've been worthy.

Great career. He would be in the best 10 players I've seen. I can't recall another player who virtually had two different careers. At West Coast, he was an explosive gun who would destroy you on the inside and outside. At Carlton, partly due to his body and partly because Carlton's midfield wasn't as strong, he turned himself into an inside beast.

He played some great games against us for the Eagles but funnily enough, it's a game he played for Carlton that I will remember most - the 2010 EF. He just about single-handedly got them over the line. Did everything he possibly could.

A champion in every sense of the word.

Genuine all-time great. Go well Juddy.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Good call Plugger46, he was immense in that EF at ANZ, particularly the third quarter, it genuinely felt as though it was Sydney v Judd. He also destroyed us in the 'Royal Wedding' match on a Friday night at the SCG, from memory that would have to be the last time Carlton beat us.

He did, though predominantly in the second half. Jack had been doing a pretty good job on him in the first half, but suffered a match ending injury in the second quarter. Judd then went on a rampage after half time.

Was that the match when the cheating interchange steward said we had too many players on the ground when in fact he missed Goodes on the interchange bench?
