Round 14: Sydney v Port Adelaide

It's a fine day here but the wind is very strong from the south-west (50kph) and rather chilly. It's supposed to ease a little by tonight by should still be quite breezy. Wear your long johns!

I second this! Comes a time in every season when you have to shiver through a night game and I think tonight is that time.

Could be a bit swirly, evening winds still predicted at 25-35 km/h. Won't rain, dew hard to predict - maybe less than last week.

I'm looking forward to it, always nice to see someone on debut and will be interesting to see how we adapt with the outs.

Breezy = little to no dew = good for Swans.

Last week was as still as, the dew settled heavily from an early hour.

I've been waiting to see Nankervis!

Looks a genuine footballer and not just an unco ruckman.

    Hopefully he goes well!

While I am interested in every Swans game. This one has increased awareness.

What is life like without 2 key position players? (are they worth the money)

    Can we cover for them?

Blooding a new player. (a tall that the experts advise need to be 25 before they can play) Good luck young fellow.

Will the mids be able to shut down Ports mid (who I rate in some areas)

Is Pykes injury a week too early?

    Is Zac back or interchange..

Can we prove we can handle the pressure and recover from the second half fade...?

    Etc

Bring on the game, where some or all will be answered

Will be interesting to see how we go tonight. I actually think we will play well - as there will be more natural decision making from our midfield going forward (hopefully anyway) rather than the usual mantra of 'Bomb it long in hope to Buddy or Tippo). A really good test for the team - and if we can get a win, a good warning to the competition that we aren't solely reliant on just Buddy and Tippo (though we already know that as Swans fans).

Some good opportunities for some of the fringe guys to stand up and say 'look at me' in a good way as well.

As long as Stevic doesn't do a warm up for when we play the Hawks in a couple of weeks (I fully expect he will be on duty for that one to make sure we don't beat them again!), then that isn't too bad a trio. No Razor Ray anyway is a good start.

It's going to be bloody cold.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

I predict we'll win by something close to whatever Nankervis kicks. That is, if he doesn't kick any we'll probably lose.
