In 219 games Buddy has never played in Geelong. How spooky is that?

On a slightly unrelated topic...A friend in Perth informs me that some pundit at a Perth radio station insists that Franklin is leaving the Swans at end of season...for GWS....Because of salary cap stuff...AFL denies it to this particular reporter...
The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.
177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

If he retired we would. If he moved to another club and they took on his whole contract, we wouldn't have to pay anything. Alternatively we could agree to pay a portion of his cap for the length of his contract with the other club.
Regardless, Buddy ain't going anywhere. There can be little serious question about whether he's worth the money we're paying him, either in terms of his onfield impact or his crowd pleasing and pulling capacity. I doubt the salary cap issues are anything like as bad as outsiders seem to want to paste, but if the cap were a little tight, there'd be half a dozen or so pretty well paid players that the club would be willing to offload before the notion of Buddy even entered the conversation.

What complete and utter rubbish, would be a bad move for both clubs.
With the new TV deal the salary cap should explode in the years Buddy's contract is at its highest. We have taken a calculated punt on the new TV deal and I think it will pay off
I doubt he will even be the highest paid player in the club by the end of his contract and he certainly will just be on a stadard A List Player contract even at $1.8M per year.
Blokes like Dangerfield and Fyfe will be in similar deals.

Selwood plays his 200, Lukie plays his 100 and we share a banner with the Cats at their suggestion. I think that was a really good suggestion. I don't rate the Cats. Think they are a bottom 8 side. They will get worse next year when a few of their experienced players retire.
We would do well to blood a newbie this week with Buddy out.
We have the choice of either Hewett or Davis. Of course we could play Robbo, Towers or Jones. BJ can't sub again and in this team I can't see him as anything but sub. I definitely wouldn't play Mitchell sub, nor Lloydy and Goodsie will be needed forward.
