    Just for this quote:

Ever since I came back from my broken leg Ive had some extra power in my kicking. It might be my timing or it could be the metal rod Ive got in my leg which is giving me extra distance.

Also, Battle for the Bridge seems to have caught on...which is disappointing.
The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.

I think you will find that Fox Footy invented that stupid name, no one I know uses it. GWS isn't a Sydney team to me, it remains an invention from a back office in AFL house that no one asked for....

Also liked the quote 'Also to put a bit of excitement back into the team'

Agree with that assessment, the paucity of their support will be apparent to all and sundry this Saturday notwithstanding their paid cheer sdquad with all their supplied equipment

Saw GWS decsribed as AFL's Vietnam in the papers over the weekend, what an apt description

Do any fans refer to it as the battle for the bridge?

It's dumb - reeks of some clueless VFL employee's idea...

The AFL And the swans cannot afford GWS to fail. Be careful what you wish for.

Why would the Swans care if GWS fail?

I don't think the Swans care either way to be honest, why on earth would the Swans care?

Having said that, I certainly agree that the AFL cannot aford them to fail.

The only benefit we really get out of the GWS test tube experiment is the academy system being enshrined but that should happened decades ago anyway?

Personally I don't care too much but I think the biggest opponents of GWS once the really hit their straps off field will be th Melbourne Clubs, the recent Swans vendetta will look like a minor skirmish then...

I thought it was Kevin Sheedy's brainchild?
