Just a reminder of one of the provisions of the Buddy deal. I know we accepted this, but it is just another example of singling out the Swans for specific punitive treatment:

    - An explicit acknowledgement that the long-term specific financial commitment over the nine-year agreement will apply to the Sydney Swans FCs Total Player Payments (TPP) for each of the nine years, regardless of how many years Franklin is available to play for the club.

Shattered. Thoughts with Big Bud because mental illness is a very serious issue and I'm proud the club has put him before a game of football which is not important in the scheme of things.

No Buddy, Jack and Parker. Going to be very tough against this freo outfit.
LRT. Lord Roberts-Thompson. He may look like the Munster, but looks can be deceiving.

I think it's been a really admirable approach by the club and by Buddy in how this has been announced. Very upfront about what the issue is and no hiding behind any made up illness or injury.

I think it shows what a quality club we are and hopefully down the track a bit Buddy gets some kudos for being another high profile footballer who's been honest and open about his mental health issues.

He's just missed a few games with a back injury if they were going to cover it up this would be the perfect excuse.

Not only does the theory not make sense it's insulting to Buddy and the club

What an emotional rollercoaster season 2015 has been.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

That's a massive call by Buddy to inform the club of his mental health issues . Huge.
First big step in the journey back to wellness .
Well, there will be many people thinking of him in the difficult times ahead.

Just finished having a couple of quiet Newtowners with a buddy (not The buddy) and pretty much said this, and he responded with "look, I hope the guy's okay- but don't feel too sorry for yourself for your year- remember you're drinking with a Carlton fan!".
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time
