Also adding a type of exchange- I remember in 1994 the then Collingwood President Allan Mcallister has arranged a deal to recruit Tony Lockett. He Took the deal to the board and it was rejected by one vote by the Collingwood board. Therefore they did us a big favour!!

Kinnear Beatson a ruckman? Surely not.

    He sat on Ireland's shoulders.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Ernie Hug crossed from Collingwood to South Melbourne and played 15 games for us in 1971. Yes, I know I'm showing my age.

Not as impressive as Matty Wheeler lobbing up on a skateboard (not Magpies related)

Putting aside the ruckman nonsense, spot on. Andrew Ireland is clearly our greatest recruit from Collingwood. A moderate back man becomes a genius administrator, pivotal in our golden era.
My opinion is objective truth in its purest form
