    2016 NEAFL draw

    Round 1 - Saturday, April 2 11am v Brisbane (Burpengary)
    Round 2 - Saturday, April 9 12pm v UWS Giants (Henson Park)
    Round 3 - Saturday, April 16 1pm v Redland (Yeronga)
    Round 4 - Saturday, April 23 9.30am v Southport (Drummoyne Oval)
    Round 5 - Sunday, May 1 4.15pm v Brisbane (GABBA)
    Round 6 - Saturday, May 7 12pm v Gold Coast (Drummoyne Oval)
    Round 7 - Saturday, May 14 12pm v Eastlake (Star Track Oval)
    Round 8 - Bye
    Round 9 - Saturday, May 27 4.10pm v Sydney Uni (SCG)
    Round 10 - Saturday, June 4 12pm v Gold Coast (Metricon Stadium)

    5 home curtain raisers (4 SCG and 1 ANZ), with the first 1 in Round 9 v Sydney Uni (Round 10 AFL v North). Also 3 away curtain raisers v Gold Coast, GWS and Brisbane. These 8 curtain raisers are bolded above.

    There also 3 home AFL games that have the NEAFL match in another location:
    Round 2 1pm UWS @ Henson Park / 4.35pm GWS @ SCG
    Round 4 9.30am Southport @ Drummoyne Oval / 1.40pm West Coast @ SCG
    Round 6 12pm Gold Coast @ Drummoyne Oval / 4.35pm Essendon @ ANZ Stadium

    A home game at Newcastle against the Gold Coast Suns, played 2 days after the Thursday fixture against Hawthorn

    And lastly, a home NEAFL occurring at the same time as the AFL game

    Thanks Ugg...looks like a pretty tough draw at first glance...you'd expect Brisbane and the Gold Coast would both be much improved on last year and GWS will obviously be very strong again...a strong NEAFL is a real positive and should hopefully fast-track the development of some of our younger players.

    Good work ugg, and good to see several curtain raisers - but I think the Brisbane one is probably a curtain dropper, if that's the word, given the firsts start at 1.10 pm.

    Quibbles aside, it would be terrific to see more curtain raisers, especially during the finals where applicable. They would leave the usual "entertainment" for dead.
    He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)
