Raising the profile of the AFL International Cup

Most football fans wouldn't be aware of the abundance of Australian Football overseas.
More than 44 countries are home to regular Australian football and the numbers and standards are steadily rising.
Every three years the world cup of Australian Football is held in Melbourne except that it's called
the AFL International cup because no Australians are allowed to compete.
2014 saw 18 countries and 25 teams compete with financial considerations preventing many more countries from attending.
The event is certainly worth watching for a variety of reasons but it is the original catch-22.
If more was known about this event more people would attend and then it would become more well known.

Here is an electronic petition to raise the profile of the AFL International Cup by broadcasting it on SBS..

    What a great export!
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)
