Well on target for 60,000 then. Do we have a cap of membership due to ground capacity ?

Giants have 15,000, probably aiming for 20,000. Hard to imagine a decade ago, that Sydney teams would have 80,000+ AFL members.

The point I was trying to make was that we have many members interstate or in regional NSW

I think there are four factors:
    1. Buddy - a very big attraction (aren't we lucky!)
    2. Move to all home matches at SCG in Sydney
    3. Increase in matches in Melbourne (boost for Vic memberships)
    4. Ongoing success of Swans competitively and as an attractive, professionally-run club.

Are there any good players from a Chinese background coming through the Swans academy?

If the academy could produce a Chinese Heeney then the memberships benefits would be astronomical. Imagine the Chinese community getting behind that player and all the merchandise benefits from China. He would be like Ming from Basketball.

Academy recruiters should be focusing on Chinese talent with electric pace.
