    Due to the bad weather up north, this match originally scheduled for Brisbane has been relocated to Blacktown.

    The Swans will debut 6 new listed players in the NEAFL 2017 opener, and will come up against a rejuvenated Lions outfit who will debut 9 listed players of their own. This includes all 6 picks in the 2016 National Draft with number 3 overall pick Hugh McCluggage the pick of the litter. Also included is 2015 pick number 2 overall Josh Schache.

    Dawson, Towers should be the main midfield men, and will be supported with the likes of Jack, Murray, Fisher and Rose rotating through the middle. The defence is well stocked with talls. Up forward, Cameron and Pink will be the main focal points up forward.

    That's a very strong Lions line-up. Hopefully they'll be a lot more competitive in the NEAFL this year than last. On paper they should win comfortably, but Shaw (and Crouch before him) have instilled a strong discipline into the NEAFL side and they invariably punch above their weight in talent.

    3.1 to 3.2 at quarter time. swans skipped out to early lead but have been pegged back. If only skill level matched their endeavour. Goals to Cameron, Sinclair and Dawson. Rose with the solitary behind.
