Which stat is that barry? I hope you're not using disposals.

Both SuperCoach and AFLPlayerRating had him 13th best Swan, which isn't bad for first game back and limited game time.

EVERYONE has a higher opinion of McVeigh than you do!!!!

I dont know how long we can carry McVeigh's "leadership" which doesnt translate into stats.
    Macca's stats from last week:
    9 kicks
    6 Handballs
15 disposals - effectiveness 93.3% ( best on the ground)
    3 Contested possessions
    0 clangers
    4 marks
    1 Tackle
    Time On Ground 68%

Leadership - provides guidance to younger players that has been missing.

Why don't you give it a rest. It is rather boring

    25% of Brisbane's inside 50's resulted in a goal. Only Rd 4 v WCE (24%) and Rd 3 v Coll (19%) are lower.

I would saying Brisbane seemed to coincide with the backs looking less frantic and more balanced. Really, Brisbane put in a very poor display of pressure, and that Eric Skipwood (sp?) bloke shoudnt be getting games in teh NEAFL, let alone the AFL if last Sunday was a guide.

Poor old Barry is having a Barry
McVeigh was more than satisfactory in his comeback game
If your judgement of Eric Hipwood is any guide than maybe you should leave team selection to the professionals

I stand corrected, he was actually 18th ranked swan for the game, just pipping Will Haywood, and equal number of AF points as well known Brisbane gun Jarrod Berry. However, on the positive side, if he played for Brisbane he would have been equal 16th ranked player for them!
Which, hard as this is to believe, there were 15 brisbane players more effective than him!

Let see how he goes against some "real" opposition.

I'm happy to lay in to McVeigh when he isn't performing.
Not personal at all, I'd do the same for any Swan.
In the past I've been a critic, and may well be again, but i saw good reason for bringing him back, and I thought that he did what was required.
As others have said, not too bad for a first game back.
He made less stupid errors than usual, and brought some much needed leadership and kicking skills.
The difference between insanity and genius is measured only in success.

Fantasy Points aka Dream Team points do not equate to effectiveness.

Eric Hipwood was officially the worst player on the ground by some margin. That would make his selection a mistake, no?

If a defender keeps his opponent ineffective but doesn't get many fantasy points themselves, does that mean their selection is a mistake?
