However, unlike the Bulldogs in 2016, who only once left Melbourne in the Finals, a 7th finish for us in 2017 would mean constant successful interstate travel to win the flag, ( except a semi final or preliminary final against the Giants). Very unlikely.

Everyone seems to accept that the shaky Vic teams will no longer be shaky and hold their ladder positions.
I predict some big down times for some of them, with the bottom end of the ladder taking wins and lowing their spots.
Swans have to keep winning, but so do the other teams in the comp.

If we didn't play the first 6 rounds and have the comp a head start, I'd be of no doubt that we'd be in the top 8 at the end of the year.
We all just need to put those first 6 behinds up and look to the future.

Even if we limp into 8th, 4 finals all on the road (unless we get lucky and meet GWS) is to much. And don't compare to dogs. They may have finished 7th but got two home finals including grand final.
If we get into the finals after a 0-6 start, we won't be limping.

If they play like that every week, we'll romp into the finals.
But that is a big ask.

Just have to keep winning and we'll get there. The Hawthorn game was an aberration, have a look at the dominance either side of that game, Norf, Saints, Dogs. All of those games we were dominant and looked like we can beat anyone.
