From what you saw how would you rate Aliirs time in the forward line? I watched him in WA before he was drafted and at times when played as a forward looked hopeless.

Unorthodox probably the best word. He initially started playing from behind, or maybe just didn't know where to lead. Certainly looked more comfortable playing out of the fifty than inside it. His performance was more akin to a half forward flanker than key forward

His athleticism certainly caused their defenders big issues

Sounds like not a lot has changed since his junior days.

Thanks for the tweeting. You said that Aliir spent a bit of time in the ruck, as well? Interesting. Did he show enough, to suggest that he could ruck for a reasonable amount of time in the firsts? Also, it seemed like Edwards was doing well?

Aliir is undoubtedly a talent and it will be interesting to see how he is deployed at senior level going forward. With more KPD depth now in our squad there is the opportunity to see if we can mould him into a tall mobile fwd/winger.

Will he be recalled to the senior backline or developed as a fwd in the ressies, watch this space

Ugg, is this the usual official unusual batch of Best Players? How did you rate them?

Talia "best", is he thawing and being brought back in from the cold?

How did you see Talia's game? At some stage he needs a senior birth. Sadly there is a good chance Grundy will not be there for the next tilt at a premiership so the next tier of players need to be tested at some stage I feel

Talia played on the resting ruckman in either Nicholls or Currie and I don't remember him losing a contest. Calm in possession and good long kick. But given our dominance in the midfield and field position after quarter time I'm not sure that equates a best on ground performance.

Or if the MRP give one of their dodgy decisions, we may need Talia to replace Reg for his non high contact on super snipe Hodge. Making him BOG greases the rails for that to happen :-)

Some photos of the day. There's a covered smallish stand, but also benches around the ground and on a nice day like this it's worth sitting on those or even watch from your cars (As an aside, do any of those cars ever get damaged by an errant ball?)

At three quarter time got to listen in to the huddle. Interestingly Shaw addressed the midfield group only with Nicky D doing the final message with the whole group

Nothing too enlightening to report, obviously they were very happy with how the match had unfolded and just drove home the message to keep working and best of all enjoy the quarter.

John Blakey and Craig Holden were also there but were just observers

It's a damning indictment on our coaching staff that we have talia and Allir in the 2's, while our seniors are so rubbish.

Coaches SHOULD NOT have loyalty to older players. They should only be loyal to the club.
