    Late out in the seniors?

AJ is a long way from playing seniors. I'd think the plan is for him to get some full games in the NEAFL this year, probably eventually playing a position they think he will slot into at senior level and prepare himself for the pre-season.

The good thing is that he is fully across game plans, just needs to be able to get confidence in his body and regain the level of form needed to push his way into a strong line up. Nothing is guaranteed that he'll get back to his 2012 level but we all hope he does, not just for us but more importantly for AJ himself.

I'm looking forward (so to speak) to see how this experiment comes off:

NEAFL: Aliir forward as Swans eye Suns - sydneyswans.com.au

If it works we should have all the ammunition we need for the time being.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Says AA played midfield last week too and:

Aliir is a unique player, its an advantage and a privilege to have him with us as hes someone who can make things happen across a number of positions."

    That's all rather exciting

Huge win by the lads. Aliir, Rose and Sinkers had good games. I liked the look of Sam Barkley.

AJ got through ok? On the score line I assume he didn't have to do a lot in the back pocket!

AJ showed that he is still some way off. It was great to see him out there - fantastic - and he did a few classy things, but he is clearly still picking up the pace of the game. Very promising signs but I reckon it could still be a long road ahead for him.

I'll stick with my assertion that if he makes back into the one's, it won't be until next season.....the knee needs to prove itself over the remainder of 2017 in the two's AND he will probably need all that time anyway just to work out the game again. He was just interviewed on ABC Grandstand at half time and said there's times out there that he's asking himself "what am I doing?", that he's sort of learning the game over again and that at the moment he's just enjoying being out there playing......and he has no timeline for a return to the seniors.
