    Round 23

Anyone know when the schedule for Round 23 will be finalised/announced?

Hoping to travel up from Melbourne for the game and knowing the date/time will help planning.

    "After round 20" apparently:

? Round 23 to be announced soon | 3AW Radio Melbourne

It was released July 26 last season, so they are a bit later this year for some reason.

The excuse is the table is so congested at the moment they want to have a clearer view of the possibilities of what the Top 8 might be.

However, given that there is now a week's break between Round 23 and the first week of the finals, why does the floating fixture need to be considered?

I think it will be a Sat game, probably afternoon or twilight. We're not playing a contender so the game won't get a prime broadcasting spot.

The AFL obviously want maximum manipulation potential.....it's what they're good at.....and I'm not talking revenue or ratings.

Precisely. The floating fixture has been rendered superfluous.
