There's probably a scholarship for that degree too if you're a decent player.

Don't start me on SU. I wouldn't like to have you working for me if you don't get the basic right.
Maybe the players could do a degree on how to pack their footy bag.
What about the Team Manager having Runners kits each week and also extra shorts and socks - Now that was not hard was it!

    Team Managers? What are they?

Don't worry, I wouldn't want to work for you either.

I get the sentiment, but i dont think ive seen a water runner all year in div 4 and even in seniors there is only 1 or 2 from every club.

Probably because you are no longer affiliated with a club, but you dont get how hard it is to organise volunteers in the current climate. Im talking about all sports/organisations im affiliated with.

When the governing body cant even get a finals draw correct before sending it out I doubt they are going to start handing out fines for incorrect uniform.

I think the sydney uni scholarships are awesome and I support manly wolves! That arrangement is attracting good interstate talent to Sydney for the NEAFL and providing one of the few elite paths for Sydney kids. If Sydney Uni are strong in Prems as a spin off from their elite sports program I think that is a small cost.

That was my point in another post - Why St George don't attract supporters.
I was at the St George V ECE on Sunday and ECE had no trouble with having Runners, Physio's, Umpire Escorts and plenty of help at the BBQ. * all in correct attire.
Even had a lady volunteer cleaning the mess you made in the toilet
ECE has a big following - family, friends and plenty from there junior clubs. always a good day at their ground but a long drive home.

So my point is if you have good support you have volunteers - Professional clubs make a more attractive competition. Not the rubbish I as a football fan has to watch each week.

Sounds like you made a mess in their toilets as well. So.... many.... volunteers.... ahhhh

There's clearly a difference between the suburban community based clubs and the university clubs - the demographics are different. Uni clubs have a more transient base, whereas your Pennos and East Coasts have a local community, links to junior clubs and so on. Full credit to them - I am envious of the way those clubs are supported and their volunteer ranks but realistically that's not going to happen for us any time soon sadly!

That said, congrats to ece for having water runners, finding physios to volunteer (gotta reduce that 400k somehow), an umpire escort and people on a bbq. I have never seen those things anywhere else in Sydney footy. In fact, I dont think olds park even has a bbq.

Hey Clubman, it was naturally a big day for ECE last Sunday - the end of the season for ALL of them except their 19's - they should have had everyone from the district there to celebrate their "success" this season!

On the other hand, it was a long way to go on a Sunday, for the St George faithful for a couple of "dead rubbers".

... by the way, Dragons have all teams qualified for finals, so plenty of football for them and their supporters yet to come this season.

Hope the ECE boys enjoyed Mad Monday!

Strewth.....that's a bit rich. Haven't the Eagles won 4 flags in the last 8 years? I had to google when St George last won a flag in the top grade.

Made NO comment about the footy or the rubbish St George tried to dish up on the day. Comments only on how they present them selves off the field.
ECE on the day was a well run footy club. Yes they missed out on finals in Prems this year but still the power club on and off the field.

Good luck to St George in finals but I don't see them going far
