My gut feeling after watching about 5 games R Clarke played last year is that he will provide good variety to our midfield roles
Ie he can play run with and free up some of our other mids and Vica versa
Hewett comes to mind in particular

The scenario is what happens if we do match. The difference between picks 2 and 3 is significant.
Our point-value picks are 26, 33, 38, 39, 40 and 70, even though pick 70 only has 39 points.
If we match pick 2, we give up 26, 33 and 38, and pick 39 gets bumped down to about pick 57. Our first pick becomes pick 36 (we have pick 40 as well which gets promoted four places up the order). Picks would be about 36 (old 40), 53 (39) and 67 (70).
If we match pick 3, we give up 26, 33 and 38, and pick 39 gets bumped down as well, but only by about two places, to about pick 41 (it's only making up about 30 points). Indeed, pick 39 actually gets promoted. We would end up with 36 (old 40), 38 (old 39), and 67 (70).
The actual pick values may be a little off, so treat this as a rough calculation.
Note the difference with the second pick here, pick 39, the one that gives up part of its value to match the bid. The difference between matching pick 2 and pick 3 is about 15 places in the draft, or almost a full round in the draft. In this hypothetical situation, the Suns could do this manipulation at no cost to them.

I say pick 9 Blakey
We can keep picks 26 and 33 up to approx pick 6 on draft day if Blakey is called out early
Ie we can use picks 38,39,40,67 etc for pick 6

The volume of posting here in the last week and a half has been inversely proportional to what the club has actually achieved thus far.
A grade of D minus so far on our trade period.
AG The way it will work is that if Blakey is nominated at pick 9 then it is our pick 26 that is used first and then 33 and so on as Liz has explained more than once. We cannot use our bottom end picks to match points on Blakey but must start from our highest value first. The only way that as it stands at present that we can use pick 26 is if Blakey is not nominated until after that pick which is totally inconceivable. We still have pick trading available right up to the moment that Blakey is nominated but the moment he is called then it is too late.
Duryea is going to the Dogs
Official. Tom Scully to Hawthorn for a future 4th round pick... the pick they got given by GC for taking Scrimshaw off their hands for a future 3rd round pick... what a joke...

From my understanding as soon as Blakey is bid on - say it is pick 8 so we would just have to use picks 26 and 33 to match it, then if it gets to a stage in the draft where a player we rate really highly is still available we could package up a combination of 38/39/40 to the club on the clock and depending on their needs they may be willing to trade down for more points.
