Yes. Please do. Then I'd only be a short drive to the SCG.

Very exciting if you enjoy a bunch of blokes having a casual kickaround at the local park

Take all the bits our of footy and what you have left is AFLX. Like watching sheep dog trials.

Yeah, it all looks like the kind of drills you'd expect to see the guys do in their first training session of the pre-season when they're allowed to get the balls out.

Annoyed at the constant PA. That alone was enough to make me turn off.

Didn't find it very exciting, but maybe I will when our boys are playing.

AFL version of touch footy. HC is a genuine chance to win the AFLX Brownlow.

It will probably fulfil a big role in expanding the game into rugby and soccer dominated areas. Much easier to gather a team of 10 than 22. You still get to play afl of a kind. The hype borrowed from Big Bash does not work though and it will never replace the real game.

AFLX: If you wanted to kill AFL stone-dead, you'd turn it into this hollow yawn-fest - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)

It turns out AFLX is not an exciting new format of a beloved sport ''that will take the world by storm''. Nor is it the AFL's version of T20 or even, for that matter, of French cricket. AFLX is the first attempted use of Victoria's new voluntary euthanasia laws.

If you wanted to kill AFL stone-dead surely you would turn it into this hollow, unappealing, pressure-free, atmosphere-deficient, oval-in-a-rectangle hole yawn-fest.

So much negativity about AFLX. Here are a few positive thoughts:

    1. It helps to watch the game without knowing the rules in advance. That will absorb some of your time.
    2. How bad can a game be that doesn't have Ruckmen?
    3. Brian Taylor is back on the air. When he's broadcasting I can turn my phone back on. He's a great manager and publicist, but I wish he had other clients.
    4. We now have AFLW and AFLX. Maybe after AFLY and AFLZ that will be the end of it.
    5. We get another chance to win a Grand Final.
