No strictly related to the Swans as we do not have a women's team, but the average age of the women seem to be a lot older than the men. Was watching the fox footy show on the AFLW competition and there was a lot of comments on the women's age i.e. she is 36, 31, middle 30's etc.

When the men reach 30 something there seems to be a lot of talk of 'going downhill', 'retiring', ' in the twilight of their careers'.

Maybe because the womens season is shorter and there is not the same toll on the body(but a lot of them play in the VFL, SANFL, WAFL) so I am not sure that this is the case.
