Incidental contact for mine. Trying to lift the ball over the tackler and makes accidental contact.......we'll see if Mr Christian see it the same way.

Agreed. Contact is part of any physical game and it was not a deliberate move to fend, nor was it unreasonable (and therefore not careless) in the circumstances when being tackled. Hell be fine.

Buddy can't be suspended for that - surely incidental contact at worst? Why would he intentionally elbow a guy when he is in trouble for holding the ball?

McCartin rewarded for his persistance - he gives us another tall option and he is good athletically and seems to have 'footy smarts'.

Lloyd can probably put another 50K on his contract tonight alone. Well done Smithy!

Almost certainly accidental, but it worries me a bit that Hambling then spent most of the game off injured, since the Tribunal have a strange tendency to often weigh injury more than intent.

How annoying is Chamberlain. Never shuts up and thinks he is buddies with some of the players. Then tries to become centre of attention by awarding ridiculous 50s. His decision making is usually pretty good but his demeanour is warped.

I reckon Buddy will get a week, as deja said, the fact the Freo guy went off and couldn't continue will count against him. No apparent malice in it, but would be surprised if he gets off.

Good solid performance tonight, but by goodness Freo are terrible going forward. But the next month is about getting the wins and setting up our season, and tonight was just a matter of getting the job done. As it will be over the next three weeks as well. Lloyd continues his stellar form, and well done on Nick Smith on 200 games - superb footballer and player for our team over such an extended period, but still doesn't get as much kudos as he should.

Yes, good performance by us, but Freo were pretty terrible. Without the Hill brothers, they looked slow. Then again, maybe these days, we are fast. And just thinking with Nick Smith, if sometime soon, we've got the game won by half time, then maybe we can play him in the middle for the rest of the game? Just to see if he can get a Brownlow vote.

Jones injured? Finished the game hobbling in a tracksuit.

From what I saw in Longmire's conference Jones had a mild concussion or head injury - not any foot/ankle injury.

Im an unabashed Rohan fan but even I have to admit that he was clearly our least influential player tonight. He did do some nice things that arent reflected in the stats sheet but realistically, he shouldve got more than the 7 disposals playing against an ordinary Freo.

Id keep him in the top grade but wouldnt whinge if he were replaced.

So Jones got smashed in a contest in the centre of the ground and was on the ground for a bit. In a great show of sportsmanship one of the freo players - shorter guy with the tats who played pretty well - helped him up then stayed with him for an unusual amount of time because he was clearly concerned about him.

Jones trotted off and got back into it. But I was touched by the sportsmanship displayed there.
