McVeigh, Hanners, Jack and Grundy out, that's 4 of our top 6 most experienced players (JPK and Smith are the other 2). 1013 games of AFL in total

True, but given past form, we’ll really only miss McVeigh and Grundy. Grundy out is huge though.

    Doesn’t Buddy count?

I wonder if the Grundy exclusion is tactical.

Agree, it smells of tactical to me.
Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect... MT

Ah, the list I was looking at only counted Swans games.

Didn't we both say that Grundy didn't have a good matchup? That would have forced Longmire's hoof to make a change.

That's a very inexperienced back line.

A very obvious point, but I looked at the ladder again this morning, Swans really need to win this if we want to stay in serious top 4 contention

Tactical to get rid of arguably our best defender? The Swans are worse off without Grundy, doesn’t matter what team we play.

I think we need to win this to stay in top eight contention, let alone top four. And not just for the four points, either. The team needs to remind itself that it's actually a pretty good side and can play good football.

The omission of Jacobs is a positive for us. He's a very good shut-down tagger and we can't afford for either Parker or Kennedy to be quelled this afternoon.

I think having Heeney back will make a big difference, I don't think we realise how much we missed him last week

Swans just need to take the game on and build some form into the remainder of the season .
