    Footy club financials

i picked this off a big footy thread:

Interesting take outs is Sydney has 2nd highest sponsorship in AFL, yet Giants have much higher assets than Swans (what?).
Other than that, what struck me is that GWS and Suns arent that far off the mark financially. Costing only $5m more than @@@@kicker melbourne clubs.

Most disappointing thing for me is the merch sales.
With the largest fan base you'd assume we would be higher.
Not just members who buy merch.
The difference between insanity and genius is measured only in success.

Geez Collingwood piss a lot of money up the wall, don't they.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

    The 3 top Collingwood expenses:

    1. Legal fees defending Eddie McGuire's defamation cases.
    2. Bribes to the AFL Fixturing Department.
    3. Hush Money covering up items 1 and 2 above.

I hate the gaming revenue stat. What a horrible way to make money. I'm proud that all non-Vic teams (with the exception of Brisbane) have nothing to do with pokies.

It goes to show how hypocritical the AFL doesn't it. They make themselves out to be a leader of morality yet they allow most clubs to profit from people misery.
