As brilliant as our young team was there were times we looked so small and immature and were tossed aside like rag dolls. We'll need a handful of the old fellas back and in form pretty soon.

Read somewhere that we had 10 players with less than 30 games.
That's pretty much half the team if you take out Kennedy.
Fair effort.
Other teams will be envious of that win.

That's the point, although not in the way you think. The umpiring wasn't inconsistent. it was very consistently in favour of North. On several occasions virtually identical incidents occurred within the same minute but were adjudicated in entirely contradictory ways, the consistency being that it was always in North's favour. WTF is the use of a board like this if we can't have a rant about it?

Exactly my point.....it has to be discussed when it's so obviously biased and potentially result changing.

Never noticed an Umpire Rant Thread.....The match thread is the obvious place to discuss all aspects of the game, including adjudication.....it can't be separated from the action, it's all part of it. I think those who complain are to an extent, attempting to shield themselves from 'uncomfortable' reality. Time for a check......

Sorry for intruding on The Umpire Vilification Thread but I just noticed that the only Swan not to have a clanger for the game was Colin O'Riordan. Not bad for a first gamer.

It was great to see the team without the usual non-impact players Rohan, Hannerbury, Jack.

Are you suggesting they have been dead weights in our games so far Barry?

We need to keep moving forward and if we lose old favourites along the way, so be it. Gold Passes have to stop, reward those bashing down the door in NEAFL. COR is such an upgrade, even in his debut game, this is the future!
