The umpiring on Saturday was fine. Eagles finished strongly and deserved the win. End of story. I wish we had been umpired similarly in 2016...

Here is that moment that made watching the GF (and not being in it) worth it!!

    So very special!

Poor Carlton. They traded out Kennedy to get that bloke whose partner goes to all the brownlows. One of the worst trades ever.

Titus gets it right on the Maynard 'block' non decision.....as usual.

"Some in the media making out that this made it a controversial result that decided the game shows a lack class and ignores the broader perspective of how the entire game was umpired.

The Eagles could put forward a whole bunch of non-calls too."

Yes this is exactly what I wanted to post!

Poor Collingwood had ONE contentious decision and it's being reported they were robbed. (Forget the fact that a number of football people said the decision was correct). The swans had multiple missed frees and dodgy frees against in 2016, but there is silence and when we say something we are sooks.

The Rioli ‘block’ was very cleverly executed.
As soon as he knew Sheed had some clear air to take the grab, Rioli was no where near Maynard.
    Sensational body movement .

I thought about this too. But we also got beat by the GC, Essendon and Port Adelaide

So I just had a look at the footage properly.

    1. There was no block, the Collingwood player had his back to the ball, and if anything, was blocking Rioli.
    2. Sheed didn't play on. People are confusing the motion to possibly pass off with moving off the mark, which he didn't do.
    3. Who really cares if anyone can prove otherwise in the above points? They were debatable at BEST, and that happens all game. Just because this happened at the end makes no difference, except to the hearts of Collingwood supporters being ripped in 2
The difference between insanity and genius is measured only in success.
