    +1

If COR can string a few games together - get full feel of the pace in first grade - I think he's going to be a lock and develop to be as influential for us as Tadhg Kennelly was.

I like the cut of his jib.

I think the new rules will suit playing 2 ruckman (Which horse generally leans towards anyway).

It makes a huge difference having your CHF and CHB on the park.

Every preseason for the past 3 years I've wanted Rampe in the midfield. This year is no different. Teams that have 2 big bodies (with JPK) in the middle seem to be so much more effective.
The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.

    Whichever way you cut it
We have only about 5 players that arent on the improve and of those 5 all are still playing very good footy

    Heaps of scope for improvement

Re. our best 22, a few of my thoughts:

    1) Most have excluded Reg and Jack. I think it is unlikely that Horse will not pick them initially unless they are injured. He tends to stick with ageing stars with the odd exception (ROK). However, I think it will become apparent as the season progresses, that they are not best 22 and will finish the season in the NEAFL. Happy to be proven wrong on that as they are both great servants to the club and have played some great footy over the years.

    2) With Melican and Reid hopefully back, it will allow us to push Heeney and Mills into the midfield more. Instantly our midfield looks a lot stronger than it did in 2018.

    3) The rule changes seem to favour playing 2 rucks again. I'm not sure who is best to partner Sinclair out of Cameron and Naismith (better tap v bigger engine and more versatility) but our forward line looks better with a tall marking forward / ruck. Buddy and the smalls should benefit.

    4) Most years we discover a "roughie" - someone from left field who steps up to AFL standard. My tip for this year is O'Riordan - showed a bit this year and looks ripe to take the game on in 2019. From further left field is Rose - plenty of talent just needs to channel it.

    5) If a few of our younger players like Stoddart, Ling, Maibaum, McCartain and Blakey make good progress, we will be well covered in the event of injury / loss of form.

All up I'm optimistic we will be competitive and certainly still in contention.
